Our genre is singer/songwriter therefore we are going to challenge this by having a performance instead of narrative performance.
We are going to have a female artist as we have already have a pre-recording of the song and this suits very well as we wanted a female artist in the first place. Our female artist is young and has a natural look. Her voice is soulful and tender expressing all her thoughts and emotions when she sings. She's been through a lot in the past and its through this video that we can see how her experiences have made her stronger.
The music video that myself,Bintu and Anna are going to produce is a written song by an artist we know. The song is called 'All my troubles'. For each part of the music video being filmed,it is also going to be directed and edited by each of us in the group.
The specific lyrics of the song by the artist fitted in well with the type of genre we are doing and therefore we want to create a performance based music video.
We don't too much to be happening in our video even through its going to be a performance based video.
Location is undecided yet but we have a range of ideas on where to film our music video. Also we are going to create a scene where the aritst is stressed/frustated due to the situation she may be going through. Although we are doing performance we still want to add this in.
Our target audience is going to be young adults/teens as they will feel more connected and relate to the lyrcis of the song.For costume the artist is going to have a natural look,not over the top.This is because we want to show simplicity and natural beauty.This part is part of mise-en-scene and therefore will we pay close attention to detail on the location,costume and make-up.The set will also be filmed on a sunny day.
Also when it comes to the editing process, we want to make the cuts and transitions combine really well in order to come out as smooth as possible.
The concept- The song is going to have a small intro,letting us film the artists emotions. The intro will happen in the location we all agree on with the producers and the artist syncing the pre-recording of our song 'All my troubles'. After that were going to remain filming the artist singing. We don't know if she's going to sing to a small audience right now as its undecided. But were going to make sure the mise-en-scene links to our genre.
